Hair Loss Due to Chemotherapy
Hair loss causes can be due to different kind of reasons. One of the major reasons of hair loss is chemotherapy treatment. During the chemotherapy treatment, a patient suffers from hair loss, which is quite embarrassing. Apart from losing hair on the scalp, he or she suffers from complete hair loss, which includes eyes brows, and eye lashes. Certain drug that is prescribes during the chemotherapy treatment acts on the new growing cells, which include hair follicles. This drugs result in excessive loss of hair in cancer patients.
In this case, there is no treatment available to fight against this type of hair loss as long as the chemotherapy session is not over. There are also no hair loss remedies in this case except in most cases, patients put ice pack on the scalp for which they believed that, the ice pack will lower down the circulation of blood and will slow down the rate of hair fall. This is quite common in cancer patients but doctors and specialist do not recommend it as this could result in the formation of another cancer on the patients scalp
As soon as the chemotherapy session is over, the patient starts experiencing hair growth gradually. The color of the hair that grew after the chemotherapy session is over slightly differs from the original hair color. Sometimes, white hair started growing up and sometimes the color might be gray. It retains its original gradually after the chemotherapy session is over.
